Our Learn to SCUBA Long WKND opens this whole new world to you to explore. The course covers the basics needed to dive into the ocean and swim amongst the fishes, with learning done at a comfortable, safe pace. The extra time spent diving over this longer course ensures that you will be an astute diver once the course is completed.

Academic Training

Before venturing into the water, our Instructor will bring you through a series of academic topics to bolster your knowledge on the given subject. This programme ensures that you will be fully equipped with the skills needed to stay safe in the water and make the most out of each dive, having fun and enojying the full experience of being underwater.

Pool/Confined Water Training

Your training starts in the safety of a pool or confined waters to allow learning in a comfortable environment. We will bring you through key skills like buoyancy control that will be essential when moving around coral reefs.

Open Water Dives

Complete your training in the sea amongst the fishes – here, you will demonstrate your ability to perform the skills taught to you and show proficiency over 3-4 days of diving.

Pre-requisites

The minimum age is 12 years old. Student divers who are younger than 15 earn the RAID Junior Open Water Diver certification, which they may upgrade to RAID Open Water Diver certification upon reaching 15.

You will be required to a complete a dive medical questionnaire. If there are any potential issues you will need to complete a medical from a doctor.

You will need to demonstrate you can swim 200 meters/200 yards or snorkel 300 metres/300yards and tread water for 10 minutes.

Cancellation Policy

Should you wish to cancel your booking, all cancellations need to be advised in writing to TDCG and the following conditions will/may apply:

(a) Bookings cancelled at any time after confirmation are subject to the forfeit of deposit, including any additional deposits required by suppliers.

(b) In addition to this fee are any charges made by the hotel, tour operator, or other principal. This can amount to up to 100% of total land arrangement costs, particularly when cancelling tours and other arrangements after the final payment due date.

It is highly recommended that Travel Insurance is taken at the time a deposit is paid, as this may prevent you having to pay these fees, if cancellation is due to circumstances beyond your control. Any refunds due will be available to you after we receive the monies from the operator involved.
